To the XXII Winter Olympic Games in Sochi: Application “Medals” from “Yandex” to allow tracing results of the Olympics

Russian Internet Company "Yandex" starts the application "Medals" for smart phone platforms iOS and Android, which in real time will inform the user about the achievements of athletes from Russia or other countries, the company said.

The application will run in the background mode. Thus, even if the program is not active, a beep notifies the user of the new medal in the piggy bank of his team after a few seconds after its conquest by the athlete.

A pop-up message will show photos of the Olympic medalist, a type sport and what medal he received. Link "More" redirects the user to the mobile version of the service "Winter Games 2014" from "Yandex", where you can learn more details about the Winter Olympics sporting events and athletes.

When you first run the application, you can select the team, for which the user wants to monitor - but Russia he can choose Kazakhstan, Belarus and Ukraine. To change the country, for which he monitors, is possible in the settings of the phone. In addition, the application will indicate the total number of medals which took the team, and its place in the team placing.

Previously, RIA Novosti news agency has launched its free mobile app "Media Center Sochi", which from February 4 on all the platforms provides access to information for non-accredited media center IOC journalists.
