World history: Exhibition “Mournful bowl”, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First World War, in Yekaterinburg

The Museum "Literary Life of the Urals of the XIX century" (Yekaterinburg) from March 11 to December 1, 2014 hosts the exhibition "Mournful Bowl" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First World War.

The exhibition first features exhibited materials from the State Archives of the Sverdlovsk region, collections of the United Ural Writers Museum and private collections: postcards and magazines during the First World War; photographs of the 8th Infantry Regiment of Simbirsk; manuscripts and photographs of Ural writers, participating in hostilities - B. Timofeev, P. Zayakin-Uralsky , N. Novikov (Chereshnev) and etc.

The materials of the exhibition are complemented with photographs and a stories about the fate of Russian and foreign writers associated with the First World War – N. Gumilev, M. Zoshchenko, V. Kataev, E. Hemingway, D.-R. Tolkien, E.-M. Remarque and others.
