Internet and culture: The reference-information portal “Culture of Moscow” launched

April 24, 2014 in the framework of the Year of Culture in Russia is launched a reference and information portal of the Department of Culture of Moscow - "The Culture of Moscow" (cult.mos.ru). The task of the portal is an interesting and understandable way to talk about the events of cultural life of the city with an emphasis on free activities and events for children. For this the website (apart from the mandatory announcements and posters of events) will host thematic reviews and collections, interviews and articles ("Overview").

The section "Places" for the first time on one resource gathers detailed information about more than 1,500 cultural institutions: from description of institutions and describes the story of its history, location and schedule information to the availability of limited mobility for citizens, the availability of wireless Internet and payment information.

In the "Events" is presented posters and announcements of events from concerts to exhibitions and stores and festivals. Specially is marked an educational and leisure activities with free entry. Particular attention is given to sites of local, regional value - libraries, houses of culture and exhibition halls. Since one of the main objectives of "Culture of Moscow" is to talk about cultural leisure not only on the already popular among the citizens sites, but sites within reach.

The section "Education" collects information about tours, lectures and master classes. Information about the sections, mugs and special schools collected in "Additional education" (for children and adolescents) and "Hobby" (for adults).

The website has two versions - "Everyone" and "Kids". Children's version – is a special thematic reviews and articles for children and children's poster: museum mugs, theater and street parties and others. The portal will display information on the conditions of admission to the music, art schools and other institutions of further art education - with the possibility of on-line entries. In addition, together with teachers and art consultants is planned to prepare plans revision of recommendation about suitable materials forms acquaintance with art.

In the future we plan to create a special section of the website where it will be collected on the ground, equipped infrastructure for wheelchair users or developing programs for people with mental disabilities.

It is also planned to create a Russian version of the website with a description of interesting places and tourist routes, information about the availability of services in English, as well as special articles.
