Information technology and history: 3D model of fortresses of the Lower Don and the Azov region

In Rostov are held a popular science lecture and a seminar "Creation of 3D-models of fortresses of the Lower Don and the Azov region: problems, methods and means of implementation". According to organizers, the purpose of the event – is to preserve and promote the historical monuments of military architecture of the South of Russia, to make them more visible and appealing new tourist routes, said at the regional public organization for the preservation of historical and cultural heritage.

The specialist of the organization Maria Zolotukhina, noting a large role which played fortresses in the development and defense of the southern borders of Russia in the 16-17 centuries, - the Lower Don and Azov region, said: "Trinity, Semyonovskaya, Pavlovskaya, fortress of Azov, Turtle and Buttercup were built according to the new time technologies".
