15 November 2014

The exhibition "The First World War and the State Duma" was opened in the building of the State Duma in Moscow.

The exposition includes 150 archival documents and photographs and describes the activities of the Tsarist Duma during the First World War. The exhibition is organized by the Federal Archival Agency, the Russian Historical Society, the Russian State Archive of Socio-Political History and the Russian State Historical Archive.

"The memory of the First World War is important as a crucial lesson for present and future generations", - said the Chairman of the State Duma Sergei Naryshkin, opening the exhibition. Among the exhibits, he noted a series of photographs dedicated to the visit to the State Duma in Europe in 1916. However, he stressed the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in difficult moments of history.

The exhibition will run until the end of December.
