Information technology and society: Concept of regional informatization until 2018 approved

At the official website of the Government of Russia is published a decree approving the Concept of regional informatization. The document is signed by the Chairman of the Government of Russia Dmitry Medvedev.

The concept of regional informatization defines the basic goals and directions of the activity for the use of information and communication technology in public authorities of subjects of the Russian Federation for the period until 2018, as well as the organizational model for managing such activity.

The main objectives of the implementation of the Concept of regional informatization – improving the quality of life of citizens through the use of information and communication technology, as well as the alignment of the level of development of information society in the subjects of the Russian Federation. The concept proposes the basic principles of the development of information and communication technology on 14 directions in different areas of socio-economic development of subjects of the Russian Federation, including education, transport, healthcare, communication, public safety and others.

The development of the Concept of regional informatization is particularly relevant, as in the period from 2010-2014 there was no document, coordinating the process of informatization in the subjects of the Russian Federation. The period of previously applied concept, approved by the decree of the Government of the RF №1024-р July 17, 2006, has been identified until 2010.
