Designers decorated the exhibition space in a new way. An amount of exhibits have reached now about 100 items, some of them are displayed for the first time. Each of the parts of the exhibition is devoted to one of the owners of the imperial residence Tsarskoye Selo from Elizabeth to Nicholas II and accompanied with multimedia screen.

Updated exposition in detail introduces the history of the Romanov dynasty and the fates of crowned owners of Tsarskoye Selo, who adored this country residence.

The new exhibition (it is, just like the old one, built in chronological order) displays the iconic pieces from the historical collection: formal portraits, uniformed dresses, furniture, bronze and china. The unique exhibits of the historical palace collections reflect the personal tastes, preferences and interests of members of the Romanov dynasty.

Multimedia screens with non-stop clips let to find out about the owners of Tsarskoye Selo and show that the residence was looking like at the time of a particular owner. Little cinema hall ends the exhibition: visitors learn about the history of this part of the palace from the film, made on the basis of archival materials and the extant iconography.
