International events: The exhibition “Vienna. The 70th anniversary of the liberation – the 60th anniversary of the State Treaty” in Austria

May 15, 2015 in the Vienna gallery "Künstlerhaus" is opened a historical and art exhibition "Vienna. The 70th anniversary of the liberation - the 60th anniversary of the State Treaty".

The exhibition is dedicated to the celebration of anniversaries of the common history of the two countries - the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Austria from fascism and the 60th anniversary of the signing of the State Treaty for the re-establishment of an independent and democratic Austria, on 15 May 1955.

The exhibition features more than 200 original documents, photographs, paintings and drawings, posters, commemorative items, film material from the State Archives of the Russian Federation, the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Foreign Policy Archives of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Central Archives of the Russian Defense Ministry, the Central Museum of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, State History Museum, the State Museum and Exhibition Center "ROSIZO", the M. B. Grekov Russian Archive of Cinema and Studio of military artists. Many documents are only recently declassified, published and introduced into science - for example, the position and instructions on the activities of the Soviet part of the Allied Commission for Austria, the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, reports the General Political Department of the Red Army.

The exhibition is organized within the framework of the Seasons of Culture of Russia – Austria – 2013-2015 – the largest cultural action in the history of bilateral relations.
