The Year of Literature in Russia-2015: The exhibition “With the watering can and a notebook” from the collections of the Museum-Reserve “The Battle of Stalingrad” in Belgorod

Within the framewok of the Year of Literature of Russia in the Belgorod State Literary Museum was opened an exhibition titled "From the watering can and a notebook" from the collections of the Museum-Reserve "The Battle of Stalingrad". It is held under the auspices of the Volgograd regional branch of the Russian Military-Historical Society.

The exhibition is dedicated to the people, by who more than one generation learns about the Great Patriotic War. Those who, in the words of the poet, "with a watering can and a notebook, or even with a machine gun" just passed "through thick and thin" - the front-line journalists, cameramen, press photographers.

In difficult conditions they did frontline reports, often risking their own lives on the frontlines. Reflected in their articles and photos, everyday heavy war days became unique evidence of the era. Visitors can see documents, photos, personal belongings, awards front of journalists.

The exposition also presents the materials, devoted to famous Soviet writer - K. Simonov, V. Grossman, E. Dolmatovsky and another who have been in a warring Stalingrad as a war correspondent. Their full of danger work allows them to be in the thick of the fighting, gave richest material for vibrant artistic and journalistic works.  

A separate section of the exhibition tells about the soldiers of Stalingrad – V. Nekrasov, Y. Bondarev, who after the war became a famous writer. They have created literary works - "In the Trenches of Stalingrad", "Hot Snow", "The battalions are asked to fire" and others were truly world famous.

The exhibition is accompanied by a screening of a documentary of L. Varlamov - V. Orlyankin "Stalingrad" (1943).

The exhibition in Belgorod will run until July 27, 2015.
