2015 — Year of Literature in Russia: Dedicated to the 170th anniversary of the "Poor People" novel of Fyodor Dostoevsky exhibition in Saratov

Exhibition dedicated to the 170th anniversary of the novel "Poor People" of Fyodor Dostoyevsky opened on June 5, 2015, at the Museum-estate of N. G. Chernyshevsky (Saratov).

The exhibition opens as a part of the "Reading the Classics" project, dedicated to the Year of Literature and the 95th anniversary of the museum of N. G. Chernyshevsky. The exhibition includes rare editions of the novels of Fyodor Dostoevsky from N. G. Chernyshevsky Museum-Estate. Among them is his debut novel titled "Poor People", published by the writer’s widow of in 1908.

Visitors will get a chance to find out about the history of books, participate in quizzes and interactive exercises. Apart from this, all comers will be given an opportunity to shot video with a reading of an excerpt from the anniversary book in the halls of museum exhibitions, and take part in the competition of audio and video readings op pieces of classical literature. Best works will be awarded.

The exhibition is open until 10 August 2015.
