Information technology and museums: The XIX International conference ADIT-2015 “The traditional museum functions in modern information society” in Vologda

September 21-26, 2015 in Vologda is held the XIX International Scientific and Practical Conference ADIT-2015 "The traditional museum functions in modern information society". 

The annual conference ADIT held since 1997 - one of the key measures to promote the all-Russian information technologies among museums and other cultural institutions designed to promote the development of museums and the exchange of regional experiences. Since 1998, the conference ADIT is held in different regions of the country. Conference ADIT is held to get familiarize with all the best things in the world and in our country in the field of museum and library of IT, as well as for professional discussion of what is being created and successfully works. 

Purposes of the conference:

- Exchange of experience in the field of informatization of museums to discuss issues relating to the conservation and interpretation of the tangible and intangible cultural heritage through digital technology.

- The development of horizontal linkages museum staff working in the different cities, in different museums of subordination to exchange experiences. 

- The development of modern forms of interactive museum activities to attract the attention of younger audiences to the historical and cultural heritage.

- Discussion of both practical and philosophical aspects of the virtualization world around us and links of that process with museum practice.
