Information technology and libraries: The cultural and educational project “Mobile library” started in Irkutsk

The federal cultural and educational project “Mobile library” started in Irkutsk. The first five buses of the route №37, equipped with virtual “book” stands, entered on September 9. The buses are also equipped with free Wi-fi.

On the "shelves" of MTS mobile library are presented works of Russian and foreign classical literature in Russian and English languages ​​- any of the presented books can be instantly downloaded on the gadget. It is planned to equip the mobile library with free Wi-fi network in 16 buses of Irkutskavtotrans.

In order to download a favorite book in the gadget, it is necessary to just point the camera of smartphone or tablet on the QR-code located on its spine. QR-code leads to the website of the project - lib.mts.ru - where you can download for free any liked product in one of three popular formats - epub, fb2, txt. Books for "mobile library" MTS are provided by the electronic resources "fishing rod» (samolit.com) and store of electronic books LitRes (litres.ru).

Irkutsk has become the first city in the country where the mobile library has appeared in city buses.
