Minister of Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation Nikolai Nikiforov came out with a welcoming speech at the final of the Web&Tech Ready 2015 International Competition of IT projects, in which he reviewed the development of the IT industry and telecommunications in Russia.

"We are currently in the telecommunications revolution mode. During the last three years the amount of Internet users in Russia has increased by 24 million peole. At this time we are running the world's largest construction site and really going to bring the fiber optic cable to all the settlements with more than 250 people population. 97% of Russian residents will be able to access to the low cost and high speed Internet. Today we are the Europe's largest Internet market, and in the nearest future will reach new heights in terms of penetration of the most modern technologies, - said Nikolai Nikiforov. - With regard to the IT technologies in Russia, I still contend that we have enough IT professionals, and we have to continue investing into budget places in universities, into start-ups, and to support organizations that are engaged in sowing investments. More than four thousand projects already went through Web&Tech Ready, many of which stood firmly on its feet and draw more investments. This suggests that we are on the right track. We are moving toward the innovations, the edge technology start-ups and promising developments. We must spread our own potential and make our country a better place to work and live."
