The Kaliningrad Regional Museum of History and Arts under the support of the regional Ministry of Culture presented a new exhibition "Space and its secrets" timed to the 50th anniversary of the man’s first extravehicular activity. The exhibition was opened in the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Paris under the auspices of President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Fortov in the framework of a large-scale Science Festival in France, which has been held since 1992.

The exhibition prepared by the staff of Kaliningrad History and Art Museum tells the story of studying and developing of space. More than a thousand and a half exhibits on this subject are held by the museum. The gem of the museum is a rich collection of materials covering the following cosmonauts: Alexei Leonov, Yuri Romanenko, Victor Patsaev, Alexander Viktorenko.

The central theme of the exhibition was one of the most important events in the history of space exploration. March 18, 1965 a man first stepped into the open space. It was a Kaliningrad resident Alexei Leonov. His “space walk” lasted a total of about 23 minutes, during which the astronaut moved away from the "Voskhod-2" spaceship for more than five meters.
