The Year of Literature in Russia-2015: Ulyanovsk is included in the list of creative cities of the world in the direction of “Literature”

Under the auspices of UNESCO Ulyanovsk has been assigned the status of "City of Literature". This was announced by the governor of the Ulyanovsk region Sergey Morozov, summing up the Year of Literature in the region.

"Winning this project opens up for your regional center tremendous opportunities in the development of international cultural cooperation. The network of creative cities includes 69 cities from 32 countries, together with the Ulyanovsk this year connected to the project 47 more cities. In particular, the status of a «City of Literature» was awarded by Barcelona, ​​Ljubljana, Montevideo, Nottingham, Obidos and others. Ulyanovsk is the only city, which presents Russia not only in the literary direction, but also in a network of creative cities of UNESCO as a whole", - said Sergey Morozov.

It is also worth noting that earlier Ulyanovsk was recognized as "The flagship of the Russian Literature", winning the All-Russian contest "The reading region".
