28 January 2016

The Memorial Museum "Gogol House" in Moscow has digitized editions of the early 20th century, from the Scientific Library of the museum.

Thus, the literature, which is a valuable source of knowledge for scholars and historians, will be available in the electronic reading room of the Gogol House library. "And, of course, we strive to ensure the preservation of these publications, said Elena Shtanko, Subscription Department Head, because almost every one of them is a rarity. Earlier, ELAR Corporation digitized books from the "Gogoliana" collection and a large array of old printed music."

Among the books from the Gogol House, which have become electronic there are: "The greatness and the fall of Rome" by G. Ferrero in five volumes. The monograph of the Italian historian was reprinted in Russia only once by the publishing house M. & S. Sabashnikovs in the second decade of the 20th century. As to the "Apollon Grigoriev. Materials for the Biography" published in the revolutionary Petrograd in 1917, still remains the most complete source of biographical information about the Russian poet.
