Memory of Russia: Agitation train “Army of Victory” started on the route from Moscow to Vladivostok

Agitation train "Army of Victory", which consisted of a platform with historical samples of military equipment of the Great Patriotic War, started from the Belorussky railway station in Moscow, said the press service of the Ministry of Defence of Russia.

"As part of the action by the Ministry of Defence it was formed a military train, which in the period from 20 April to 8 May, will overcome the route from Moscow to Vladivostok", - said in a statement.

The campaign is held on the eve of the 71st anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and will end on May 8 with the arrival of train to the City of Military Glory of Vladivostok. The train will run through the three military districts and will stop in more than 20 cities, including Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Kirov, Perm, Kungur, Yekaterinburg, Tyumen, Ishim, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Taiga, Achinsk, Krasnoyarsk, Taishet, Irkutsk, Ulan Ude, Chita, Belogorsk, Birobidzhan, Khabarovsk, Sibirtsvo and Ussuriysk.

According to Minister of Defence Sergei Shoigu, the revival of the traditions is necessary to preserve the memory of the victory in the Great Patriotic War and the losses that the people suffered.

Residents of cities, where the agitation train will make stops, will be able to see represented on military hardware platforms. In addition, the exhibition car presents the exposition of the ten models of modern weapons.

Also the stylized medical car of the wartime is included in the composition. It recreates the atmosphere of the military hospital train transporting the wounded from the front to the rear hospitals.

In addition, at each station of specially trained guides from among servicemen in historical uniforms will acquaint everyone with the exhibits.

A private railway playground scene is designed for performances of artists of different creative teams. Another car is equipped with a mobile cinema on the screen which will broadcast films and newsreels during the war.
