Society and Culture: The XXV Derzhavin readings are held in the Novgorod region

Traditionally, in July, Russia commemorates one of its best sons - Gavriil Romanovich Derzhavin, a poet, an outstanding statesman, a citizen. Last years of his life were spent in the Novgorod land, in the Zvanka manor, which is in the Chudovskiy municipal district of the Novgorod region. Annually Chudovo holds Derzhavin readings, this year they are opened on July 7.

In the Inter-settlement Central Library on July 7, a museum exposition "The River of Time", dedicated to G. R. Derzhavin will be presented. The XXV Derzhavin readings are held in the estate of "Zvanka".

The Derzhaviny estate "Zvanka" is today a cultural landmark of the Chudovo municipal district and is a property not only of the Novgorod region, but of all Russia.

Representatives of the authorities, literary critics, poets, local historians, teachers, cultural workers and schoolchildren take part in the event.
