“Total Dictation” was held in Czech Republic

An educational event "Total Dictation" was held in Czech cities of Brno, Hradec Králové, Karlovy Vary, Pilsen and Prague. The event was prepared and conducted by the international cultural institute "Klyuch" with the support of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in the Czech Republic.

In 2018 the world action of literacy "Total Dictation" was held by the Russian Foundation for the Support of Language Culture of Citizens for the 15th time. It was held simultaneously in more than 1000 cities of Russia and 80 other countries of the world. In Prague, "Total Dictation" was held for the seventh time.

This year the author of the text of the "Total Dictation" was a young Russian writer, born in Kazan, the author of the famous novel "Zuleikha opens her eyes" Guzel Jahin.

Before starting the dictation in the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Prague, the head of the Russian language courses Lyudmila Nyklova held a consultation for the audience on the most common mistakes that occur during the writing of dictations. Then the teacher of the Russian language and literature at the Secondary School at the Russian Embassy in the Czech Republic Irina Demisheva dictated an excerpt "Teacher of Literature" from Guzel Jahina's "My Children" that has not yet been published.

This year, the dictation was written in Prague at three venues: the Russian Center for Science and Culture, the Czech-Russian School "Veda" and the Secondary School at the Russian Embassy in the Czech Republic. The awarding of participants and laureates of the "Total Dictation" will take place on June 1, 2018 at the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Prague.

An electronic collection "Russian language" is presented on the Presidential Library portal. It includes manuscripts and publications of monuments of Russian writing, archival affairs, scientific works (including dissertations and thesis), dictionaries and reference books, teaching aids. The digital collection "Russian language" will be cognitive not only to the scientific and educational community and linguists, but also to a wide range of users who love and appreciate the Russian language.
