Attendees of the Chelyabinsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library tested their knowledge of the history of the Great Patriotic War

The historic event “They Fought for the Victory”, timed to the 75th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi siege, was held by the Chelyabinsk Regional Center of Access to the Resources of the Presidential Library.

The format of the event, which, because of the large number of participants, lasted for three days, assumed knowledge of both the history of Russia and the resources of the Presidential Library. Moving along a pre-planned route, the teams decided tasks based on reliable facts and events of the Great Patriotic War of different levels of complexity: they solved the encrypted texts, reconstructed the chronology of the war days.

At the end of the event, the attendees watched a film from the collection of the Presidential Library “The Siege: Chronicle of Life” and made a virtual tour of the State Memorial Museum of Defence and Siege of Leningrad. Young participants also got familiar with the Internet resource “The Children's website of the President of Russia tells of the Presidential Library ”.

The Presidential Library’s portal features the collection “Chelyabinsk Region: Pages of History”. The collection includes official documents, archival materials, studies, essays, statistical, graphic, cartographic and other materials covering the administrative structure, geographical location, demographic, economic, socio-political, socio-cultural and other aspects of the development of this territory.
