The history of the development of Siberia and the Far East showcased in the Sverdlovsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library

The history of developing remote regions is the subject of the interactive exhibition “Development of Siberia and the Far East” held by the Belinsky Sverdlovsk Regional Universal Research Library.

The holding of the Interregional Lecture “Development of Siberia and the Far East” made it possible to summarize the exhibition and talk about research expeditions and scientific discoveries as part of the Yekaterinburg Book Festival, dedicated to the theme of travel.

Participants of the event were greeted by the Director for External Relations of the Presidential Library Alexei Vorobyov (via video-conferencing mode), as well as the deputy director of the Belinsky Centre Elena Garms.

There was organized a live broadcast of the lecture on the portal and on the social networks of the Presidential Library. The video lecture recording is available at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iiYvme_CPac.

The Presidential Library’s portal features Sverdlovsk Region: Pages of History collection. It contains electronic copies of studies, essays and photographs of the 19th - early 20th centuries. The materials spotlight the geographical, demographic, socio-economic and socio-political aspects of the history of the region.
