The Presidential Library’s Resources Workshop held in Penza

On December 6, 2019 a workshop about dealing with the resources of the Presidential Library for teachers of the Russian language and literature was held at the Lermontov Penza Regional Library.

Seminar participants got familiar with the educational Gosudarika website where in addition to digitized printed sources, educational and popular science films are presented. The teachers were shown books about the Order of St. George, materials from the Memory of the Great Victory collection, and were also introduced to the rare edition “The Civil Alphabet with moral instruction” which is the first official Russian civil alphabet. Fans of phraseological units were recommended to read the book “Accurate and walking words” by M. Michelson, published in 1894.

The participants of the workshop were also shown a 3D tour of the hall of the Constitution of the Russian Federation and a virtual tour of the exhibition “Materialized Memory: Defence and Siege of Leningrad in Museum Displays”.

Specialists of the Penza Regional Center informed teachers about the Russia in the Electronic World Olympiad in the disciplines such as "History", "Social Studies" and "Russian Language" and called for actively promoting the participation of high school students in it.

Such seminars are aimed at promoting the resources and educational projects of the Presidential Library.

The Presidential Library’s portal features Penza Region: Pages of History collection. It includes archival documents, essays, studies and statistical materials which spotlight the demographic, geographical, socio-economic, socio-political and other aspects of the history of Penza Region of the late XVIII - first third of the XX century. The current Charter of the region is also presented.
