Republican Olympiad in Russian Language and Literature launched in Azerbaijan

The 12th Republican Olympiad in Russian Language and Literature has been launched in Baku. It involved pupils of 7-8 grades from 33 general educational institutions of the city of Baku.

The Olympiad has been organized by the following organizations: the Russian Embassy and the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan and the Association of Teachers of Russian-speaking educational institutions of Azerbaijan. The period of the Olympiad, which is 4 months, includes 24 regional tours, of which 8 will be held in Baku, the rest - in different cities and regions of the country.

The final regional tour will be held on June 1 in the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic. An awards ceremony on the birthday of the great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin will be held on June 6.

Schoolchildren will be able to participate in the Olympiad of the Presidential Library Russia in the Electronic World. In 2019–2020 academic year, an Olympiad was organized on the new subject “Russian as a Foreign Language” for foreign users of the library. Detailed information about the project is presented on the institution's Internet portal.

To prepare for the Olympiad please use the materials of the Russian Language electronic collection, which includes manuscripts and publications of monuments of Russian writing, archival affairs, scientific works (including dissertations and theses), dictionaries and reference books, study guides of various types and levels.

The collection is available in the centers of remote access to information resources of the Presidential Library located in different countries of the world, one of which has been opened in Baku at the Russian Information and Cultural Center since 2011.
