Crimeans learned about the electronic collection of the Presidential Library "Fatherland Defenders"

On February 13, 2020 a presentation of the electronic collection Fatherland Defenders which was attended by students of the P. I. Tchaikovsky Simferopol Music College and a member of the Union of Crimean Border Guards Vladimir Graf was held at the Crimean Regional Center of the Presidential Library.

The specialists of the digital resources department presented an electronic selection containing decrees, military manuals, studies on the history of the creation and participation of the Red Army in hostilities, albums, photographs and videos about the defenders of the Fatherland.

The guest of the event, Vasily Gorishny, the grandson of Hero of the Soviet Union Vasily Akimovich Gorishny, described the courage, valor and honor shown during the years of the struggle with the enemy as an example of the exploits of his grandfather, a Soviet military leader, a participant in the Great Patriotic War.

All the materials of the electronic collection Fatherland Defenders are available on the Presidential Library’s portal.

In addition, the institution provides access to the collection Republic of Crimea: Pages of History, which includes studies, essays, archival documents, photographs and other materials spotlighting the administrative, socio-economic, socio-political and cultural development of the peninsula from the most ancient times to the present day.
