International Book Donation Day held at the Volgograd Regional Information Resources Center of the Presidential Library

February 14, 2021 the Regional Information Resources Center of the Presidential Library based on the Gorky Volgograd Regional Universal Scientific Library took part in the campaign "Book Valentine's Day", which was timed to coincide with the International Book Donation Day.

The guests and participants of the event learned about the possibilities and stock composition of the Presidential Library's electronic repository, donated traditional publications for the development of a new direction in the work of the regional center of information resources of the Presidential Library - the youth center «УМЪ».

Among the guests of honor, the Regional Center of the Presidential Library was visited by the chairman of the committee on education, science, youth affairs, physical culture, sports and tourism of the Volgograd Regional Duma Alexey Volotskov.

As part of the meeting of the "Compromise" discussion club, the employees of the Regional Center of Information Resources of the Presidential Library held an intellectual role-playing game "Advantageous Party". The task of the participants in the game was to help Yaroslav the Wise to conclude a successful marriage for each of his daughters, focusing on the realities of this historical period and not forgetting about the romantic component. As auxiliary materials, the children used fragments of the video lecture "The Prince and the Princely Power in Russia in the 9th century - the first third of the 13th century" from the collections of the Presidential Library.

The Presidential Library's portal features the collection Volgograd Region: Pages of History, which spotlights studies, essays, memoirs, archival documents, official statistical collections and reviews, as well as journals of county zemstvo assemblies devoted to history, archeology, economics, demography and military administrative development of the territories of the period of the XIII-XX centuries, now part of Volgograd Region (the former Tsaritsyn and Kamyshinsky districts of the Saratov province).
