Leading soloists of the Bolshoi Theater performed at the international Opera Selecta festival in Croatia

4 August 2021

A concert within the framework of the international festival Opera Selecta took place in the ancient Croatian city of Trogir with the support of the Russian House in Zagreb. It involved the leading soloists of the Bolshoi Theater.

Soprano Olga Seliverstova, mezzo-soprano Svetlana Shilova and baritone Konstantin Shushakov performed works by N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov and P. I. Tchaikovsky. The soloists were accompanied by the pianist Vesna Podrug-Kasyanenko, well-known in Croatia and Austria.

“Soloists of the Bolshoi Theater are an undoubted and incredibly attractive brand of our country. However, not so many world festivals today present programs from the Bolshoi Theater in their playbills. We will fill this gap by actively filling the scores of festivals in different parts of the world with Russian music”, - said Narmin Shiraliyeva, advisor to the head of Rossotrudnichestvo.

Users of the Presidential Library's portal have opportunity to learn about the large-scale electronic collection spotlighting various aspects of the development of theatrical business in Russia: the history of the emergence of theater in pre-Petrine Russia, theatrical traditions of the peoples of our country, the activities of theater management bodies in the Russian Empire, modern searches for new forms and genres, norms and rules for actors and other specialties related to theater, design and performance of performances, theater life in the regions. A separate section is made up of personal materials - biographical information about directors, actors and other representatives of the theater.

Only part of the materials from the Presidential Library’s collections is publicly available. The information resources of the national electronic storage are also available in the remote access centers opened in 30 countries of the world.
