Great space travel for Penza schoolchildren

14 December 2021

Employees of the Regional Center of the Presidential Library based on the Lermontov Penza Regional Library prepared "great space travel" for the sixth-graders from school № 64.

The guys designed a model showing the change of day and night, as well as the seasons; distributed the planets in the required orbits; wrote messages to the RKA.

The schoolchildren were also shown new books about space from the Lermontov Library, where 3D images appear with the help of an application on a smartphone: a rocket "takes off", a lunar rover moves, a "parade" of planets takes place.

Young space travelers were advised to read N. A. Rynin's book Interplanetary Communications on the Presidential Library's portal, which tells about how the inventors and science fiction writers of the past centuries imagined space flights.

The space journey ended in the Star Hall of the library, where the children examined exhibits from the Penza Planetarium.

The Presidential Library’s portal features the collection Penza Region: Pages of History. It includes archival affairs, essays, studies and statistical materials covering various aspects of the history of the region at the end of the 18th - first third of the 20th centuries: demographic, geographical, socio-economic, socio-political and others.
