Celebration of the centenary anniversary of the newspaper "Kuzbass" held at the Fedorov State Scientific Library

The newspaper "Kuzbass" and the Fedorov State Scientific Library of Kuzbass are partners and participants in several joint information projects.

Thanks to the cooperation agreement signed in 2019 the library not only digitizes the paper copies of the main newspaper of the region stored in the collections and uses them in the preparation of digital thematic collections but also provides access to them on its website without violating the law. Work on the conversion of old newspapers into digital form has been carried out for several years by specialists from the Document Digitization Laboratory, a subdivision of the Kemerovo Regional Center of the Presidential Library. Gradually, the digitized archive of the newspaper is transferred to the Presidential Library, where it is available to visitors of electronic reading rooms.

The Presidential Library’s portal features Kemerovo Region by a separate collection. It includes studies, statistical materials and archival documents of the second half of the 19th - early 20th centuries spotlighting the administrative, socio-economic, demographic and ethnographic situation of the Mariinsky and Kuznetsk districts, the territory of which today is based on the region.
