EthnoPero All-Russian Literary Contest of short prose waiting for new participants

The Sverdlovsk Regional Interethnic Library is holding the EthnoPero 2022 International Short Prose Literary Contest. The contest has been organized by the Ministry of Culture of Sverdlovsk Region and the Sverdlovsk Regional Cultural Institution of Sverdlovsk Region "Sverdlovsk Regional Interethnic Library".

The international literary contest of short prose EthnoPero in 2022 is timed to coincide with the Year of Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of Russia. The objectives of the contest are to strengthen civil unity and harmonize interethnic and interfaith relations, promote the ethnic and cultural diversity of the peoples of Russia, promote folk art, preserve cultural traditions, historical and cultural monuments, cultural identity of all peoples and ethnic communities of the Russian Federation.

In 2022 the entries will be accepted for the EthnoPero contest in two categories:

∙ "Main Contest"

The subject of contest works (entries) must be related to the peoples of Russia, their history and original culture, or dedicated to the ethnic and cultural diversity of the Russian Federation. The contest works can be devoted to the topics of positive interethnic interaction and intercultural dialogue.

∙ "Literature for Children"

Contest works (entries) made in the genre of children's literature may correspond to the theme of the "Main Contest" nomination, but must be focused on the appropriate children's target audience. Contest works can be aimed at the formation of a national cultural code in a young reader, the formation of a readiness for dialogue and cooperation with people of different beliefs, national cultures and religions.

The contest accepts works by authors who have reached the age of 18, regardless of citizenship and place of residence. One author has opportunity to take part in any or both nominations of the contest and send no more than two contest works (entries) in each nomination.

The contest participation is free.

The contest entries, together with contest works, must be sent by August 31, 2022 to the organizer of the contest at etnopero@somb.ru with the note EthnoPero Contest.

The list of winners of the contest will be published on the official website of the Sverdlovsk Regional Interethnic Library online at the end of November 2022.
