The campaign Reading Street held on Sakhalin

The Sakhalin Regional Center of the Presidential Library joined the Reading Street information campaign dedicated to the great Russian poet Mikhail Lermontov.

The event has been organized by the Sakhalin Regional Universal Scientific Library together with volunteers - students of the school summer playground of Lyceum № 1 in the city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and the youth public association "Molodezhka ONF".

The event orhanizers also distributed information leaflets with famous works of Mikhail Lermontov to the guests and residents of the city.

The Presidential Library’s collection Mikhail Lermontov (1814–1841) contains materials revealing the versatility of the genius poet's personality and his role in the cultural life of Russia. It includes books and periodicals containing the texts of Mikhail Lermontov's works, studies of his life and career, as well as postcards, photographs and images associated with the poet's name. Of particular interest are reproductions of paintings and drawings by Mikhail Lermontov himself, illustrations by famous artists for the works of the poet, sketches of theatrical scenery and costumes for the production of the play "Masquerade" by Vsevolod Meyerhold.
