The Chelyabinsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library hosted intellectual game "There are no Unknown Heroes"

On December 7–8, 2022 employees of the Regional Center of the Presidential Library based on the Chelyabinsk Regional Universal Scientific Library held an intellectual quiz game “There are no Unknown Heroes” which was dedicated to memorable dates - the Day of the Unknown Soldier and the Day of Heroes of the Fatherland.

The event was attended by students of cadet classes of schools in Chelyabinsk. The guys had to show their knowledge and ingenuity in several rounds: "Poetry", "Songs", "Cinema", "Streets". The participants also had to prepare their homework - to present a creative performance about the hero, whom one of the streets of the city was named after.

The stories about the exploits of Alexander Marchenko, Nikolai Khudyakov, Vladimir Kolsanov, Evgeny Ovchinnikov, Natalya Kovshova and many others revealed to the children the heroic personalities of the participants in the Great Patriotic War.

It should be noted that the stories of the heroes of the South Urals are available in the book of Roman Gribanov "Gods of War". According to organizers, it was this publication that inspired them to host the game, and the author himself was invited to the event as an expert.

During the game, the children learned more about the history of the Great Patriotic War, captured in the names of the streets of their native city. They also made sure that it was the sacred duty of every citizen to know and preserve the memory of the heroes for the sake of a worthy future of the country.

The Presidential Library’s portal features the Collection of digitized archival documents, film and photo materials World War II in Archival Documents. It contains materials that spotlight the prehistory, course and results of the Second World War. So, on December 6, 2022 the Collection included more than 100 documents from the Archive of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation. The documents are intelligence messages (cipher telegrams) from London, Tokyo, New York, Shanghai, Harbin, Stockholm, as well as reports, certificates and special messages from the Intelligence Directorate of the NKVD of the USSR to the top Soviet leadership for June 1941 - November 1942.
