Competitions for knowledge of the Constitution of Russia held at the Penza Regional Center of the Presidential Library

16 December 2022

On December 14, 2022 the Lermontov Penza Regional Library hosted the quest “The main document of the country”, dedicated to the Constitution Day. Three teams from Penza schools № 76 and 78 competed in knowledge of the Basic Law of the State. The tasks prepared by the specialists of the Regional Center of the Presidential Library and the Center for Legal Information turned out to be difficult. The organizers of the quest tried to create an atmosphere of popular intellectual quizzes and Russian TV shows on the venues. Therefore, the stations of the quest were called: “Svoya Igra”, “Slaboe Zveno”, “What? Where? When?" and etc.

At all stages, participants were required to have good theoretical knowledge and ingenuity. In the electronic reading room of the Presidential Library, schoolchildren, in order not to become a “weak link”, had to find answers to questions on the history of Russian constitutionalism in digitized sources. Not everyone managed to build a long chain of correct answers and score the maximum number of points.

In the department of literature in foreign languages at the station "Where is the logic?" the participants were given the task of knowing the basics of the constitutional system of foreign countries. All participants were able to correlate the head of state, form of government, flag, coat of arms and capital of the country.

In the information room at the "Pole Chudes", the children not only learned how to use the electronic and alphabetical catalogs of the library, but also learned interesting facts about the development of draft Constitutions of 1993.

At the “Improvizatsiya” station, eighth-graders, with the help of pantomime and drawings, "talked" about human rights and freedoms guaranteed by the articles of the Constitution of the Russian Federation.

All competition participants demonstrated good knowledge of the articles of the Russian Constitution, team cohesion and completed the quest in a great mood.

The team "Themis" from school № 76 won.

The Presidential Library’s portal features the collection Constitution - Basic Law, containing the texts of the constitutions of the Russian state of various historical eras - the first constitution of the RSFSR of 1918, three constitutions of the USSR (1924, 1936 and 1977), the constitutions of the RSFSR of 1925, 1937 and 1978, the current Constitution of the Russian Federation of 1993 as amended, approved during the all-Russian vote on July 1, 2020, as well as original texts and editions of the current constitutions of individual constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
