The Presidential Library told about history of border guard service in Russia

On May 24th, 2024, the Presidential Library hosted a lecture on the "Pages of History of Border Guards and Troops". This event continued a series of lectures on the history of Russian security agencies, part of the Presidential Library's "Knowledge of Russia" video lecture series. At these lectures, listeners learn about the main activities and operations of special services, as well as the most significant events and outstanding individuals in the field.

The lecture was followed by a celebration of the professional holiday for border guard servicemen on May 28th. Vyacheslav Baranenkov, a Major General of Justice and professor, spoke about the significance of the day and why those who serve in the border guard are proud to do so. He also discussed how the border guards have become legendary in Russian history.
