Opening of Center for Remote Access to information resources of Presidential Library in Kurgan region

On July 8th, 2024, the Remote Access Center of the Presidential Library was officially opened at the Kurtamysh Special Educational Institution on the occasion of the Day of Family, Love, and Fidelity.

The pupils and staff of the institution gained full access to the Presidential Library's entire electronic collection, which currently exceeds one million depository items. This digital collection includes books, periodicals, news reels, photographs, educational and scientific films, abstracts of dissertations, archival documents, and materials on the history of the Russian state, as well as information on the Russian language, which is the state language of the Russian Federation.

Yaroslavna Soglaeva, the Deputy Director for Development of the Presidential Library branch in Tyumen Region, delivered a welcoming speech, and the participants of the event watched presentation videos about the Presidential Library and its educational offerings.

Chief Bibliographer Natalia Kuznetsova gave an overview of the Presidential Library's internet portal and materials from the collection Family and traditional family values in Russia as the basis of Russian statehood. The students learned about interesting facts related to child-rearing in different historical periods and the history of famous Russian families. They also made crafts together, such as writing on paper daisy petals (a symbol of Family Day and love and Fidelity) to reflect on what family means to them.
