The Istominsky Festival has come to an end in Yamal

October 3-4 in the National Library of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District was held district Istominsky festival, dedicated to the Yamal writer Ivan Grigorievich Istomin. The festival was opened by the first deputy director of the Department of Culture of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District Stas Chernavsky. With a salutatory word, the participants of the festival were addressed by Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District Sergey Kharyuchi, representative of the Okrug Department for the Affairs of the Indigenous Peoples of the North Oleg Syugney and the younger son of the writer Alexander Istomin.

The most important and serious event of the festival was the scientific and practical conference "Traditions and innovations of the national literature of Yamal: from the sources to our days". Participants of different age categories and in different nominations in the second final round defended their work. The defense took place in the reading room of the library both in face-to-face form and through video conferencing with the technical support of the Presidential Library. Participants from all municipalities of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, even its most remote corners, had the opportunity to present their work, to ask questions and to respond to them in real time. After that, the members of the competent expert commission summed up the results: the winners were awarded diplomas, souvenirs and money prizes, and all participants were awarded with the diplomas of the festival. 

On the first day of the festival, two interesting and significant projects were presented. Interactive special project of the National Library of Yamal "Ivan Grigorievich Istomin" introduced the participants and guests of the festival with unique materials about the life and work of the writer: the voice of Ivan Istomin himself, manuscripts, drawings, letters, photographs, books and the radio project "Yamal reads Istomin".

Within the framework of the festival, the literary evening "Ivan Istomin - Son of the North" was also held, the main characters of which were the younger son of the writer Alexander Istomin and the biographer Raisa Khasanovna Belorukova, who presented her book "Ivan Istomin. Essays. Interview. Memories".

On the second day of the festival a series of creative meetings took place in educational organizations of the city with A. I. Istomin and R. K. Belorukova. Students from the Obdorsk High School and School № 3 got to know the writer's son, learned about a new book that was created with the goal of increasing interest in the personality and the creative legacy of Yamal's legend, Ivan Grigorievich Istomin.

The festival attracted more than 450 people. All events within the framework of the festival took place in an atmosphere of sincere warmth and sincere interest in the multifaceted talent of the first singer of the Yamal North, Ivan Grigorievich Istomin.
