The events of the Revolution of 1917 in Russia were discussed at the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Brest

November 10, a round table "100 years of the 1917 revolution" was held at the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Brest. The test of time". Elena Maslova, director of the RCSC, addressed the audience. She noted that the topic of the round table requires a delicate and balanced attitude to the analysis of the causes and results of the 1917 revolution and respect for historical memory. Elena Maslova stressed that such events are aimed at reconciling the general public with one of the main events in Russian history, as well as the consolidation of the historical community itself.

The participants of the round table discussed the role and significance of the Russian Revolution of 1917 for Russian and world history, its causes, stages and modern assessments, the methodology of research of this problem. They also tried to identify the reasons for changing attitudes and views on the study of the revolutionary process in Russia, examined current problems of the present and significant geopolitical challenges.

In the year of the 100th anniversary of the Revolution of 1917, the Presidential Library implements a project dedicated to this memorable date. During 2017, the portal publishes collections of documents that consistently reveal the course of events. At the end of the year a special collection "1917" will be prepared on these materials. The thematic collections include documents of various types - books, periodicals, photographs, leaflets, newsreels, etc.
