One-book exhibition highlights the history of trams in Yekaterinburg

The regional center of the Presidential Library which operates at V. Belinsky Sverdlovsk Regional Scientific Library launched an exhibition of one book. One-volume edition titled “Electric transport of Yekaterinburg celebrates 80” reads about city’s tram and trolleybus system. What is more, a «Literary tram» campaign has recently started in Yekaterinburg. Now residents and guests of the city have a chance to take a ride on a tram, that is decorated with drawings from works of Pavel Bazhov and Dmitry Mamin-Sibiryak.

The electronic collection «Petersburg tram» is available on the website of the Presidential library. It provides access to unique historical documents which highlight the building of electric vehicle in St. Petersburg, along with the maps of the first tram routes.

Sverdlovsk Region is in the spotlight on the Presidential Library’s website via the «Sverdlovsk Region: Pages of History» collection. The presented statistic materials, studies, essays and photographs dated between 19^th – 20^th cc. reveal geographic, demographic, socio-economical and socio-political aspects of the history of Sverdlovsk Region.
