Ahead of the 75th anniversary of complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi Siege the Ministry of Defence of Russia has released the collection of unique documents “Ladoga Artery: Confronting the Siege”. Documents from the collections of the Central Archive of the Ministry of Defence, which reveal details of liberation of the besieged city, are now available on its official website. Nearly all of declassified documents are dedicated to the Road of Life – the only military and strategic main road and unique fuel artery across Lake Ladoga, which connected the besieged city to the rest of the country.
