The exhibition “Around the World for the Rescue of Chelyuskintsy”, dedicated to 85th anniversary of Krassin icebreaker’s participation in Chelyuskin’s epic rescue, is opening on April 18, 2019 on board Krassin icebreaker in St. Petersburg.
On February 13, 1934 Chelyuskin steamship sank in the Chukchi Sea crushed by the icepacks. On display are personal items of members of the round-the-world voyage, documents, postage stamps, photographs, periodicals and books, which cast light on events that took place 85 years ago.
