October 4, 2019 marked exactly 350 years since the death of the great artist Rembrandt van Rijn (1606–1669). This date is being widely commemorated in the Netherlands and around the world.
Paying its tribute to Rembrandt’s genius the State Hermitage Museum (St. Petersburg) is presenting after restoration one of the most mysterious and remarkable masterpieces from its collection “The Fall of Haman”. The exhibition “The Fall of Haman: Rembrandt’s Picture in the Mirror of Time” is a key event in the programme of the Year of Rembrandt in Russia.
