In commemoration of the 250th anniversary of A. A. Arakcheev’s birth the Museum of the Artillery, Engineering and Signal Corps (St. Petersburg) presents the exhibition “Iron Count”.
Alexei Arakcheev was born on September 23 (October 4) 1769. He became one of the most prominent figures in the history of Russia, whose role has not been fully studied and appreciated yet.
The new exhibition at the Museum of Artillery gives a great opportunity to learn about A. A. Arakcheev’s life and work, and his contribution to the reformation of not just the Russian artillery, but also the Russian army in the early 19th century as a whole.
