Winners of the Journalistic Marathon awarded at the Presidential Library
The winners of the Journalistic Marathon City School Media Editorial Competition were awarded in the Presidential Library (Senate Square, 3).
Valentin Sidorin, Deputy Director General of the Presidential Library, noted that library specialists were always happy to see young Petersburg residents interested in the life of their city and country. Last year, the Journalistic Marathon was opened in the library and juniors were able to learn about the library’s activity.
-The materials that you wrote based on the results of the competition helped us to take a fresh look at our work”, - said Valentin Valentinovich, addressing young journalists.
In this regard, during the current year, a decision on the official entry of the Presidential Library into the founders of the Journalistic Marathon was made.
Member of the Board of the Union of Journalists of St. Petersburg, editor-in-chief of the Slavyanka Segodnya newspaper Alexander Seleznev addressed the participants of the final stage of the St. Petersburg city contest of school media editorial offices Journalistic Marathon: “I want to wish you to always remember your first materials, because this is the beginning of your journey in such a difficult but very exciting profession”.
Another associate who turned into a new co-founder was the branch of Rossiyskaya Gazeta in St. Petersburg. On behalf of the workers of the main newspaper of our country, young journalists were congratulated by the director of the branch Angelika Gurskaya.
This year, the contestants looked behind the scenes of theaters and film studios. Director of the Yunost House of Children’s Creativity Tamara Furzikova thanked the Lenfilm film studio, St. Petersburg Music Hall, Etude Theater, the Lenin Library and actors of St. Petersburg theaters who responded to the invitation to meet with young journalists of the city and region and tell them about their work. According to the feedback from the participants, the meetings were very interesting and instructive.
Juniors of 13 teams from 23 participating in six nominations of the competition received diplomas and cups. At the same time, school editorial boards were not inferior in many respects to journalism studios of houses and palaces of children's creativity. For example, the “Report” nomination was won by Tatyana Levchina (Rakurs newspaper of the gymnasium № 92 of the Vyborgsky District).
The main prize - a cup in the nomination “Newspapers. Major League” - was received by the young journalists of the Budni newspaper of the Center for Children's (Youth) Technical Creativity of Moscow Region.
A year later, the youngsters will again participate in the Journalistic Marathon, where they will be waiting for such interesting and at the same time difficult tasks.
