Sakhalin entered the top 10 active regions for participation in the contest “Thanks to the Internet - 2019”

Awarding of participants of the V All-Russian competition of personal achievements of pensioners in the field of computer literacy “Thanks to the Internet - 2019” was held at the Sakhalin Regional Universal Research Library.

Sakhalin residents of the senior age category took 4th place in the ranking of the regions' activity in training computer literacy of citizens, providing 254 works for the competition. Pensioners trained for a year in the Sakhalin Regional Universal Research Library under the program "The Alphabet of the Internet", gradually mastering the computer.

The Presidential Library’s portal will help to better prepare for the intellectual tournament using the Sakhalin Region: Pages of History collection. It includes information on the development of Sakhalin Region - the only Russian region completely located on the islands. The collection is presented in the form of travel essays, geographical and historical descriptions of the mid-19th - early 20th centuries, as well as fragments of the 1929 newsreel.
