Memorable Dates of Russia: Tambov to host the exhibition marking the 150th anniversary of Sergei Rachmaninoff

The Alexander Pushkin Tambov Regional Library opened the exhibition "Sergei Rachmaninoff: "I am a Russian Composer" from the collections of the Russian National Music Museum. The project was supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The exposition anticipates the Year of Sergei Rachmaninoff in 2023, announced by the President of Russia.

After the end of the exhibition, the exhibits will move to the Sergei Rachmaninoff Museum-Reserve "Ivanovka".

The exhibition features rare documents and photographs, including the genealogical chart of the Rachmaninoff family and student works of the musician. Some of the documents are showcased for the first time.It showcases, for example, a list of published music that the composer took to European tour; couplets, performed by Rachmaninoff in the rest hours; a "strange" list of the composer's students when he had no students. Besides, the exhibition includes multimedia content. QR codes provide an opportunity to listen to the rarest records of famous works by Rachmaninoff performed by the author.
