Memory of Russia: Documentary exhibition "Archives Tell..." presented in Veliky Novgorod as part as of the project marking the 75th anniversary of Victory
November 15, 2020, the House of Friendship of Leningrad Region presented the documentary exhibition "Archives Tell ...". It is available at the A. S. Arensky Novgorod Regional Philharmonic (1st floor) in the frameworks of the regional festival of national cultures "Territory of Friendship".
The documentary exhibition "Archives Tell ..." is an event by the House of Friendship within the project "Road Map: Routes of Victory (1941-1945)", devoted to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
The exhibition project highlights the comprehensive assistance of all Soviet republics to besieged Leningrad.
Materials have been collected since August 2019. The House of Friendship invited the state (federal and regional) archives of all Russian regions, as well as the archives of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan to participate in the forthcoming exhibition.
37 archives, including 34 Russian and 3 archives of the CIS countries, provided 2500 copies of documents within several months.
The documentary evidence of that time includes information about the evacuated orphanages and facilities of Leningrad and the Leningrad Region (plants and factories); prize papers of soldiers of the Volkhov and Leningrad fronts; information about the food and ammunition supplies to besieged Leningrad, as well as diaries, private letters, rare photographs.
The administration of the House of Friendship decided to make this exhibition mobile. During 2020-2021, it will be showcased in many museums and cultural institutions of Leningrad and Pskov Regions.
