Internet and History: Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve website released a virtual exhibition featuring the selection of glass negatives from the collections of the Tsaritsyno Museum and Nature Reserve
The virtual exhibition "Family History in Old Photographs" presents a selection of glass negatives from the collections of the Tsaritsyno Museum and Nature Reserve.
In 2010, the collections of the Tsaritsyno Museum and Nature Reserve got acquisition of glass negatives by V. V. Kazantsev, founder and director of the first Tsaritsyno Museum of History and Art.
This selection became significant for the museum. The Kazantsev family had been living in Tsaritsyno from the 1830s to the late 1970s. The family chronicle was intimately connected with the history of the estate for almost a century and a half. The collection features the rather small glass negatives (171 items) of great interest as a historical source. Looking at the pictures, we see the "revived" reality of the past by the example of a particular family: people in old fashioned dresses, their activities and hobbies, details of everyday life and household items. The collection includes numerous images of architectural monuments of the Tsaritsyno ensemble, park and ponds. It brings a new view of the "life history" of the estate.
