Marking the 200th anniversary of Fyodor Dostoevsky: The Presidential Library broadcasted a video lecture about the value of the family in the writer's life and works
On April 2, 2021, the Presidential Library hosted a video lecture entitled "The Value of Family in the Philosophical Vision of Fyodor Dostoyevsky" as part of the Knowledge of Russia project. The event was the second in a series of lectures "Fyodor Dostoevsky - Conversation about Values", dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the world-famous writer, which will be celebrated on November 11, 2021.
The event is free. The meeting was held remotely and broadcasted live on the Presidential Library's portal in the Live broadcasts section in accordance with the program of live events, on the institution's YouTube channel and the VKontakte social network.
The lecture was given by Dmitry Bogach, Candidate of Philology, Senior Researcher of the South Ural State Humanitarian and Pedagogical University. He analyzed the writer's works and letters, as well as the memoirs of his close relatives, and told about the role of the family in the life and oeuvre of Fyodor Dostoevsky. The participants of the event learned about the development of the writer's family values, which were based on Christian principles and strong relationships between parents and children, as well as between husband and wife.

The series of lectures "Fyodor Dostoevsky - Conversation about Values" started on February 19, 2021. At the first meeting, Dmitry Bogach told how the classic showed the value of human life and refuted the stereotype that Fyodor Dostoevsky is a pessimistic writer.
