Society and Culture: Exhibition "Nikolay Feshin. From the Collections of the State Museum of Fine Arts, the Republic of Tatarstan" resented in Moscow
The State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow) launched the exhibition "Nikolay Feshin. From the Collections of the State Museum of Fine Arts, the Republic of Tatarstan".
The solo exhibition of Nikolay Ivanovich Feshin (1881‒1955), one of the outstanding artists of the first half of the XX century, will continue the collaboration between the State Tretyakov Gallery and the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan as part of the events celebrating the centenary of the formation of the Republic (TASSR).
Kazan houses the largest collection of the artist’s works, including painting, graphics and sculpture that were created mainly before he immigrated to the United States in 1923. During the period of his in-depth searches for the national distinctness of art, Feshin’s work was a particular manifestation of the artistic and modelling tasks of the era, and new themes associated with the life of a multinational country were also revealed then.
