The Presidential Library to spotlight the constitutional right of citizens to economic activity

On October 25, 2021, the Presidential Library hosts a video lecture entitled "The Constitutional Right of Citizens to Entrepreneurial and Other Economic Activities Not Prohibited by Law" within the framework of the Knowledge of Russia project. The event will be the fourth in the series of lectures "A man, his rights and freedoms - the highest constitutional value".

The video lecture is free. The meeting was broadcast live on the Presidential Library's portal in Live broadcasts section in accordance with the live events program and on the institution's YouTube channel and on the VKontakte social network.

Doctor of Law, Professor, Head of the Department of State Law of the Pushkin Leningrad State University Vadim Mamonov considered the historical aspects of the formation of the right to economic activity in Russia. He paid special attention to the right to entrepreneurial activity: he designated its place in the system of constitutional human rights and freedoms, analyze the prohibitions established in the legislation on the exercise of this right, including the inadmissibility of monopolization and unfair competition. Vadim Mamonov also talked about the constitutional guarantees of entrepreneurial activity.

In addition, the video lecture participants learned about the details of the activities of the Commissioner under the President of the Russian Federation to protect the rights of entrepreneurs.

The history of the basic law of our country is revealed by the materials of the Presidential Library, presented in the special digital collection Constitution - Basic Law. Anyone has opportunity to study the texts of the constitutions of the Russian state of various historical eras. In addition, the collection contains digital copies of official documents, as well as research, journalism, memoirs, video materials illustrating the details of the creation of the Basic Law.

The Presidential Library also invites users to learn about the Constitution of our country with the amendments approved during the all-Russian vote on July 1, 2020. The document text is posted in the collections of the institution and published on its official portal.
