The regional local history Olympiad "My Land" completed in Kurgan Region
The solemn ceremony of awarding prize-winners and awardees of the regional local history Olympiad "My Land" was held on May 30, 2022 in the Yugov Kurgan Regional Universal Scientific Library.
The Olympiad was held from February 1 to April 30 for pupils of 8–11 grades and students of secondary specialized educational institutions in the city of Kurgan and the region. It consisted of three stages, each of which lasted exactly one month: 1st stage - test; 2nd - work with sources; 3rd - essay.
The Olympiad involved about 350 schoolchildren and students from all districts of Kurgan Region. The awarding ceremony at the Yugov Library was attended by the winners of each of the rounds of the Olympiad, as well as the guys who became the best at the end of all stages.
The Olympiad was organized by the Department of Culture of Kurgan Region, the Department of Education and Science of Kurgan Region, as well as the Regional Center of the Presidential Library based on the Yugov Universal Scientific Library.
Alexei Avdeenko, curator of the regional Olympiad "My Land", specialist of the Regional Center of the Presidential Library in Kurgan Region, congratulated the winners. He told schoolchildren and students about the opportunities and resources of the Presidential Library and the electronic library of Yugovka. Completing the tasks of the Olympiad, the participants got opportunity to actively use the materials presented in the digital collections of the Presidential Library Kurgan Region: Pages of History as well as the Yugov Electronic Library. All the proposed questions and tasks of the Olympiad are designed in such a way as to provoke interest among the pupils in an in-depth study of the history of their native land.
Director of the Department of Education and Science Andrey Borisovich Kocherov addressed the winners and awarded them. 3rd place was won by Daniil Shipitsin, a pupil of the Zatechenskaya secondary school, 2nd place - Konstantin Zhurenkov, a pupil of the Sumkinskaya secondary school. The winner of the Olympiad was Olga Dyadina, a pupil of the Secondary School №3 in Shumikha. All the pupils received diplomas as well as prizes and gifts.
